The Ježica Sports Hall is located in the outskirts of Ljubljana, in the midst of nature. Apart from the local clubs ŽKD and KD Ježica, the hall is used for sports training by kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, and clubs for sports training and competitions in basketball, handball, and volleyball.
When the hall is “full” and matches take place on the entire court, it is also possible to install stands for around 450 spectators to watch the matches. There are also stands in the balcony, where there is room for about 50 more spectators. Six changing rooms are available for competitors and users. The hall also features office space and a conference room.
In the past decades, the stands of the famous Ježica Hall were packed with fans of the Ježica basketball players, who were also very successful in the European League. The conference room is still decorated with the flags of visiting teams from all over Europe that played at Ježica Hall in the 1980s and 1990s.
The Ježica Hall was also a setting for a few scenes in the film Čefurji raus! by Goran Vojnović. In 2020, during the corona-virus pandemic, the hall provided shelter for citizens stranded in Ljubljana on their way back home.
