STOŽICE HIPPODROME

The racecourse offers accommodation for 60 horses. Harness horses are able to prepare for their competitions on the 1000-metre-long race track (approximately 20 metres wide) and, for easier training, use the 800-metre-long judging track on the inner part of the track. The Hippodrome also provides good training facilities for horses and their riders taking part in dressage or show jumping competitions. The main riding arena and the school riding arena are reserved for them.

We aim to further revitalise this green area on the outskirts of the city and enrich it with new facilities. Some time ago, the Slovenian national archery teams and their candidates were given a training area on the edge of the Hippodrome.

Visiting the Hippodrome and coming into contact with horses is an interesting and special experience for children, which is why we also want to increase interest in this beautiful sport through visits from kindergartens and schools.
